The South Devon coast is a sea kayaker’s paradise, with secluded hidden beaches, beautiful sheltered estuaries with steep wooded sides and spectacular cliffs and sea caves that can only be properly explored by kayak. This part of the world is steeped in history and we will paddle past ancient castles and smugglers coves that have changed little in thousands of years. The kayaks are virtually silent allowing you to get right up close to all sorts of exciting wildlife… seals, dolphins, basking sharks and a whole array of amazing sea birds.
This will be an unforgettable journey. From a somewhat ceremonial base camp inauguration on day 1 - arriving at a private camp in a clearing in the woods high on the side of the valley with spectacular views down over the Dart Estuary, yoga and a purifying gong bath to day 2 adventures on the kayak and camping on a remote beach relax away from the busy pace of modern life, sit around a roaring campfire and roast marshmallows on a driftwood fire.
No experience is required and all equipment is provided; the Sea Kayak guides will teach you everything you need to know to get going.
Remember… Sea Kayaks are designed to be able to carry heavy loads with minimal or no extra effort to the paddler and there is plenty of storage space. So unlike a walking or cycling trip please feel free to bring whatever you need to be comfortable!
