Job Role: Operations manager
Hours: PT - 22.5 hours per week
Salary: £38K pro rata
Location: Remote working with at least one office/coworking day per month.
Founded in 2019 Black Girls Hike is a registered Community Interest Company, that provides a safe space
for Black women to explore the outdoors and connect with nature. An approved training provider, we host
nationwide group hikes, activity days and international trips whilst working with the wider outdoor community
to create projects and services to increase the participation of our community in the outdoors.
The role
The Operations Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the organisation,
ensuring that all processes and systems are running smoothly and efficiently. This role involves managing
the small BGH team, project managing our daily operations, and working closely with the CEO and BGH
Board to achieve our 2024 strategic goals.
The ideal candidate will have a sharp business mind and proven success in managing organisational
operations and teams for maximum productivity. This person will be skilled in organisational development,
and project management, and be able to develop and maintain an environment of trust, diversity, and
inclusion within the operations team. Knowledge of the third sector would be highly beneficial, as would
experience in income generation and fundraising.

Demonstrable experience in business administration, operations management or a related field
Demonstrable project management knowledge and skills and the ability to apply these within a volunteer
environment
Experience in using project management tools to manage staff and operations.
Ability to use data and analysis skills for internal and external reporting.
Experience in fundraising, creating funding bids and using data and insights to build compelling proposals.
Experience in finance and accounts reporting.
Strategic development and organisational growth
Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
Advanced verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate
Demonstrable commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion
Knowledge of the outdoors and outdoor organisations, and volunteer-led organisations
Education
No formal education is required, we are more interested in your capabilities and potential in how you will
apply your experience to the role.
