Join us for a weekend of sisterhood and adventure, exploring , famous for tors and rivers. We’ve hired out YHA Edale, nestled within woodlands in the stunning landscape of the Peak District for a weekend of activities hiking, kayaking, gorge walking and crafts.

Based on shared room accommodation, maximum occupancy 6. All meals included in the price including a packed lunch.

Arrive from 5pm on Friday 8th Sept.

*A full detailed itinerary will be provided on arrival; all activities are suitable for beginners. If watersports activities are delivered by approved providers, wetsuits and all safety equipment are included* this is subject to weather conditions at the time of the event.

HIKING

Discover a place of wild peaks and rugged moorland with views that stretch forever

KAYAKING

Take to the waters at Peak Districts reservoir and lakes. Join us as we take in the breathtaking views and master the art of kayaking.

Gorge Walking

Challenge yourself on this exhilarating trail through the stunning gorges of Peak District. From waterfall climbs, tricky rock traverses, rocky obstacles and plunge pool jumping. Experienced guides will take you on a journey with a difference as you negotiate the treacherous rapids and waterfalls.

CRAFTS

Relax and unwind with a BGH paint session. Get in touch with your creative side creating your own still life masterpiece to take home with you.

What do I need to bring?

*This is a rough guide and not an exhaustive list. The weather can change quickly so its best to be prepared. Remember your comfy clothes to relax in as well as your outdoor kit. Wetsuits and safety equipment are provided by the instructors.

ACTIVITIES WILL BE CONFIRMED CLOSER TO THE DATE

General (for all activities)

o Sunscreen (optimistic 😊)

o Warm clothes, including hat & gloves

o Any medication required

o Towel

Watersports Activities

o 2 Pairs of footwear, trainers for in the water and a dry pair.

• NOTE: Participants must wear trainers for watersports activities, crocs, welly boots, sandals or flip flops are not sufficient.

o Warm clothes for afterwards.

o Gorge Scrambling & Kayaking: Shorts & t-shirt to wear over your wetsuit.

o Towel

Land Activities

o Waterproof Jacket & trousers

o Appropriate attire for the predicted weather. For all land activities we recommend long trousers.

o Warm jumper or fleece, long sleeves

o Walking boots with ankle support.

Can I come to Black Girls Hike?

As the name suggests, this is a safe space for Black/Mixed Race cis and trans women and non-binary people of Black African and / or Caribbean descent who are comfortable in a space that centres the experiences of Black women. We are not a BAME, POC, BIPOC, WOC, Politically Black or Ally organisation.

CANCELLATION POLICY

If you cancel your booking

If you cancel your reservation, you will not be eligible for a refund unless we find someone to take your space. If we are unable to fill the space then we will not refund any of the money paid.

If we cancel your booking

We would not expect to have to make any changes to or cancel your booking, but sometimes problems out of our control may occur. If this does happen, we will contact you as soon as is reasonably practical and inform you of the cancellation or the change to your booking. If we cancel your Booking, we will refund you any fees you have already paid to us. However, we will not be liable to refund you for any fees you may have paid to any third party in connection with your booking eg. fees for travel.
