Organ Donation Week is a week-long campaign that takes place every year, with the aim of raising awareness about the ongoing need for organ donors.
Did you know for many patients in need of a transplant, the best match will come from a donor from the same ethnic background. Black patients often have to wait significantly longer for a successful match than average due to a shortage of suitably matched donors.
To raise awareness of the life-saving gift of organ donation, we want to turn as much of the world pink as we can. Black Girls Hike will take on the muched loved Epping Forest route in support of NHS Blood & Transplant.
Dresscode: A dash of pink. Think pink...hat, scarves, hoodie, jacket, trainers, accessories etc.
Meeting time: 10:45 (meeting point will be detailed in the confirmation email)
Start time: 11:00
Distance: 5 Miles (8KM)
Difficulty: Easy - Circular route through Epping forest, generally on even footpaths with some gentle inclines. Walking boots recommended, toilets available at end of route. Bring a light lunch.
