Peru boasts the most dramatic Andean peaks and finest regional cuisine, but the jewel in its crown is undoubtedly Machu Picchu, the legendary Inca ruins discovered high in the clouds and in the deep forest. Cuzco, the former Inca capital is filled with fascinating history, museums and ruins. If that wasn't enough, Peru's long, fertile territory was the starting point for many pre-Columbian civilizations.
What truly makes this journey special is our BGH community. Together, we'll explore, support, and experience unforgettable moments. We will trek the lesser-known paths of the Inca Trail and immerse ourselves in the ancient splendour and rich culture of Peru.
We'll traverse breathtaking ruins and mountain passes, delving into Peru's rich history and iconic Inca ruins, including the awe-inspiring Machu Picchu.
We are looking forward to meeting you!

The Community of Huilloc keep the ancestral customs and traditions alive. We will learn all about the weaving process and the materials used to obtain colours for weaving and the shearing of wool.
Around noon, we will enjoy a typical Andean lunch, based on local products. After lunch, we will return to Ollantaytambo and explore this impressive archaeological site that stands out due to its terraces, its ceremonial centre, its royal chamber and other important temples.

We will visit Moray, a community famous for its embedded amphitheatre, formed by four circular terraces which seem to disappear into the interior of the puna, like an artificial crater. Evidence seems to suggest that Moray was an important centre of Inca agricultural research on crops.
Visit Maras; its main attraction, apart from its church which dates from the colonial period, are the salt mines located near the town which captivate sightseers and in particular, photographers.

We will pass another Inca tunnel before visiting the ruins of Wiñayhuayna "Forever Young" (2650m/8694f).
